Only Practice On The Days You Eat- Shinichi Suzuki

Experience

I’m a trained Suzuki teacher. I have worked with the very young (4 1/2 and up) teaching classical guitar. I’ve learned the importance of love and patience on the part of the teacher and especially parents.

I’ve also taught at the Academy Of Music For The Blind, which taught me how to teach chords and melody to anyone, no matter what their background.

I have taught flamenco guitar out of a series of books and I have found a good middle ground between a number of methods.

Price

Right now, guitar lessons are 35 a half hour and 70 for an hour.

Philosophy

I believe that a guitar teacher shows who they are, then what they know. In that order. In short, that means the student and the teacher must trust each other equally, and I take that trust seriously. I don’t push or pressure my students, I just give honest feedback, advice and support.

I also believe that a student needs to have a positive experience practicing guitar. It is important that they enjoy the process of improvement. They must see the guitar as a source of fulfillment, fascination and/or Therapy. If they don’t experience this, their relationship with the instrument will be cut short.
